The children were really excited about putting their ideas into practise and hadn’t had any full art days for a while. There was a lot of energy in the classroom, which was directed into the work, with an immediate hands-on approach.
The children loved problem solving by working things out with raw materials. We produced loads of exciting work using lots of inspiration from the tour. We used buildings from the fantastic view from their classroom, turning them into characters that spoke out using quotations from Dylan Thomas poems. Quotes formed windows, window ledges cartoon hair and literally rolled off the tongue of their 3d sculptures. Some great concepts put together by very enthusiastic children. “We can be as creative as we want to without having any restrictions” said Molly.
“I loved it “ said Evan.
