On arrival at the Locws tour Talycopa pupil Charlotte was prepared with a brochure and had already added to the Mega Poem by Rhian Edwards, together with Nia and friends.
Keshva said that Jon Burgerman’s work “seems to describe Dylan Thomas life because the map looks like the radio play Return Journey”.
I particularly liked Harrison’s response to Jeremy Deller’s More Poetry is Needed which was,“Yes of course its art because no one else would have thought of doing that”. Charlotte asked if it was done in black and white to represent Swansea’s Colours. There was a curriculum cross over with science when Keshva and Rhys discovered the heat difference between the black and the white coloured wall when touched. Rhys said that the black colour absorbs the heat and the white reflects it.
Aston said that the space below the text was for others to add their poems to it.
Katie commented on Lisa Scantlebury’s work saying, “ may be its Dylan Thomas wife and himself dancing”. Charlette and Katie commented said that it would be great if there was a wooden floor in front of the work so people could dance in front of it”.
Lowri thought that from viewing the exhibits there were lots of different types of art which can relate to different people . “People can express themselves through art” she added.
