The “Swansea Icons” project also visited Gors Community School in Cockett, Swansea. The workshops started with a ‘brain-storming’ session, with each student given limited time to fill an entire A2 piece of paper with everything they can think of about Swansea as well as the parts they enjoy and think are most important. The next stage was to figure out a way of representing or symbolising these aspects of Swansea in an artwork. All the pupils were excited to have an art workshop, especially with an Artist from Swansea. Erin, our Outreach Coordinator had a great time helping the students develop their own mural designs using aspects of Swansea they highlighted on their A2 ideas pages. The artworks collaged lots of different ideas together that fully represented Swansea in their eyes.
