All the students at Cwmbwrla Primary school were excited to be visited by an Artist living in Swansea, we sent our Outreach Coordinator Erin to run a one day workshop about “Swansea Icons”. The workshop began with a talk about Locws International and the design process that Artists’ use to develop ideas for public artworks, and more specifically public murals. Each student created a mind-map about Swansea, thinking about Symbols and Text that could be used to describe Swansea. These ideas were they applied to create individual murals that highlighted the parts of Swansea that are most important to them. Some students were so keen they finished their murals early and started to create their own collaborative mural.
