The “Swansea Icons” project also visited Crug Glas, a successful special school situated in Swansea. On the day of the workshop students from Morriston Comprehensive School were visiting and ready to join in and have fun! Our Arts Outreach Coordinator Erin worked with our Locws Schools Artist David to successfully deliver the workshop. Together they spoke about Art Across The City, and the upcoming event Art Across The High Street, and how all of the artworks are connected to Swansea. The workshop started with conversations about the High street, how it has changed and what they would like to see, which was very important to the school as they are sited nearby. All these ideas then fed into creating large group artworks depicting an abstract and positive view of Swansea. The students from Morriston were helpful and supportive, thoroughly enjoying their day as well, with lots of them asking Erin and David to come back again and create even more art with them!
