Swansea Museum
Jackie Chettur’s artwork ‘…it is 89 days this morning since we left the Mumbles Head’ that was originally produced as a Locws International Project in 2010 is being re-shown as part of the exhibition ‘Copperopolis’ in Swansea Museum.
This new exhibition illustrates the story of how Swansea became the copper capital of this country, and indeed reached out into the world for the copper bearing ore, and in turn exported the metal all across the globe. The displays will tell the industrial, seafaring and personal stories of those times when copper was king.
The artwork will be open to the public on Wednesday 23rd March until the 15th May 2011.
