Locws international 2011 is an exhibition of new temporary artworks by a selection of Welsh and international artists in public spaces across the City of Swansea.
Each of the invited artists has considered the historical, cultural or environmental aspects of the city as inspiration to create their new works and there is a broad range of contemporary art practice on display with some very bold and striking new works created. This exhibition captures a response to the city at a time of evolution and change, picking up on the past, present and future.
Our thanks goes to all the artists for their visionary input in creating this exhibition and to all the people involved in ensuring its realisation, our supporters, funders and volunteers and the City & County of Swansea for allowing us to use the city in such a creative and open way.

Mae Locws Rhyngwladol 2011 yn arddangosfa o weithiau celf dros dro newydd gan ddetholiad o artistiaid o Gymru a gweddill y byd mewn mannau cyhoeddus ar draws dinas Abertawe.
Mae pob un o’r artistiaid gwadd wedi ystyried agweddau hanesyddol, diwylliannol neu amgylcheddol y ddinas fel ysbrydoliaeth i greu eu gweithiau newydd ac mae amrywiaeth eang o arfer celf cyfoes i’w weld gyda rhai gweithiau beiddgar a thrawiadol iawn wedi’u creu. Mae’r arddangosfa hon yn dal ymateb i’r ddinas ar adeg o chwyldro a newid, gan ystyried y gorffennol, y presennol a’r dyfodol.
Diolch i’r holl artistiaid am eu cyfraniad gweledigaethol wrth greu’r arddangosfa hon ac i bawb sydd wedi bod yn rhan o’i gwireddu, ein cefnogwyr, ein harianwyr a’n gwirfoddolwyr a Dinas a Sir Abertawe am ein caniatáu i ddefnyddio’r ddinas yn y fath ffordd greadigol ac agored.
