Stained Glass Window Workshops

Guest blogger and volunteer Kevin Evans writes about the stained glass window workshops, at the hub during Art Across the City 2015.Artists Bermingham & Robinson were commissioned by LOCWS International to create the stained glass windows in the Guildhall, Swansea in 2009. These have been an inspiration to carry out stained glass workshops at the Art Across the City hub in Swansea Quadrant. The artwork provided the premise for the workshops, and participants of all ages have created designs of their own. The stained glass workshops involved creating kaleidoscope images made out of black card and coloured acetate.

LOCWS International volunteer Kevin Evans is a stained glass designer, and has been helping run the stained glass workshops at the hub:

“I have past experience of setting up art exhibitions, and completing stained glass commissions in the West Wales area. I have recently set up art workshops in local nursing homes, and community centres in Swansea. Over the last ten weeks I have been working voluntarily for Locws at the hub, and have been involved in helping with art workshops, and setting up my own stained glass sessions, for adults and children in the local community.”
