Art Across the City 2015 Tour
After a brief introduction we got creative straight away at the hub by drawing and putting down some ideas of our own.
Charlie thought that David Cushway’s ‘Car’ was a car from the future but added that one couldn’t fit a person into it.“I would maker a car that would turn into a submarine”, said Megan.
Fleur drew a car which went…. ‘a billion trillion mph’. She also commented on Colin Priest’s work saying that “he must love Joes ice -cream. I would like to make an ice cream from mint choc chip, strawberry, chips and honeycomb’’.
“It looks cool because it’s a massive Artwork”, said Manon referring to Jeremy Deller’s work More Poetry is Needed.
“Its made from hundreds of bricks”, commented Gwennan.
“Is it old because its black and white and if it was these days it would be colourful” said Ioan.
Michael Stumpf’s work caught the imagination of the group. Daisy and Fleur thought that they saw the sculpture move, “Is there a person in there?”
“I like the bubblegum because it looks like its melting off the step”, said Gwennan.
“Wow that’s so cool”, was the reaction from Charlie looking down at the perspective from the third floor of the Civic Centre at Emily Speed’s Concrete Dreams.
The boys were very interested in the installation of this work.
Manon said, “ Swansea is everywhere” after viewing Graham Dolphin’s work and Cai said “Any direction you go, will take you to Swansea”.
