Workshop days with David Marchant
It was great to see how the teachers embraced the project and had lots of materials prepared for my visit. The staff had already briefed the children from the tour day and we were ready to start a substantial wall centre-piece for the hall in the school.
There was one major artwork made with various individual elements linking it to the artists on our tour and it was also site specific to the school. The artwork was a combination of History, Geography, Literacy, and Culture. The work related to Colin Priest’s memory board and Graham Dolphin’s signage, without forgetting the pure site-specific context in which all Locws artists are briefed.
The whole class including staff were very much involved in the different processes which I demonstrated to make a complete multi medium artwork. The final result was a credit to the class.
