Locws Schools 2015: Gowerton Primary: Tour

Art Across the City 2015 Tour

Greeted by a class of keen listeners, we started our idea making straight away. Ffion drew a very unusual perspective of David Cushway’s work which reminded the class of an eagles head or an alien mask. Joe commented “its very aerodynamic” and Rachael said that the car looked futuristic.Maddi thought that Colin Priest’s communal postcard installation looked like one big cloud so we decided to experiment with a smaller version of our own.
Harry questioned if Jeremy Deller’s work was art and Rachael said “is it an advertisement for poetry”.
“The world would be a better place with more poetry as people wouldn’t live their lives on computers and would write poetry instead” said Ciaran.
Iris joined the conversation saying, ‘I would write, what is the earth without art, it would be just air”.
“I love how this sculpture brightens up the area”, said Lily responding to Michael Stumpf’s work.
“They make you stop and stare, they look unique and random” these were the feelings of Harry and Thomas. “Yeah they look like they’re from the future”, replied Joe.
“You could have lots of futuristic people watching from the steps” said Ciaran.
Olivia and a few of the group thought that the balloons from Emily Speed’s work looked like fruit . “I think it looks like a disco ball”, said Joe.

“I thought that today was the best trip I have ever been on”, began Iris, “I actually thought that today would be boring but its actually been one of the coolest days ever”
“I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time” said Matthew
“I hope we can come back again”, said Victoria.
