Locws Schools 2013: Seaview Community School

An incredibly enthusiastic class were keen to embrace the concepts behind the artworks. On the tour some great little sketch work was demonstrated and some interesting ideas. Connor drew a lot of numbers in his sketchbook and said that they represented the number of leaves branches and ages of the trees that the work was based on.

Liam thought that the artworks displayed in Singleton Park reminded him of emeralds. Many of the children thought that Mathew Holding’s work was very playful and should be situated in a Play area, Cameron stating that it represented a boat.

The class of year3 and 4 children were open-minded and threw themselves into the idea of creating collages utilising the materials available to them within the school. These recourses and more importantly the ideas resulted in a performance or demonstration of artwork within their school grounds.
