Locws Art Across the City are calling out for participants to paint colourful designs on placard boards for work by Swedish artist Jacob Dahlgren. We are looking to work with existing art groups in Swansea area as well as individuals willing to take part in drop-in workshops. All the participants will be invited to take part in the procession through the city centre to Jacob’s commission in Swansea to coincide with the opening Art Across the City on the 7th of September 2013.
Dahlgren’s colourful sculptures have been exhibited in galleries and cities across Europe. This will be his first major UK commission. His playful work makes reference to clothes design, computer games and abstract art. Starting with community workshops and processions, Dahlgren’s work is bold, bright and a startling addition to any city.
