Artworks inspired by Locws International Art Across The City 2011
The artwork ‘140 words’ was made which was influenced by the “Industrial Revolution”. Even though still images the work made your eyes flicker around looking for new words or links between them – this was reminiscent of Rhys’ work in the museum. When held up to the light this work illuminated via the material it was made from.
‘Never forget who you are’- a series of letters made by Aaron, Byron, and Joseph. These were photographed on the school grounds as a stand-alone art piece but also acted as a collaborative work to be included as a title for another group’s performance. Danica, Kara, Megan, Elliot and Aidan produced a performance piece, which involved more of the class. Danica said, ‘the costumes were a challenge to make but we were very pleased with the results’.
Another group made little birds from clay and painted them different colours reflecting various moods.
‘Looking lost’, initially making masks and photographing in the school grounds continued Seren’s idea. Seren said that ‘she loved making the masks and really enjoyed directing how the photographs would look”
‘Our hard work definitely paid off” said Seren.
‘I would love to do this project again said Georgia’
