As part of Art Across The City 2015 we are running workshops in Swansea primary schools for pupils to take part in making one of the artworks for Swansea’s annual international public art exhibition which opens on 21st March.
Thanks to a partnership with artist, Graham Dolphin, who has designed the artwork, and with support from the Arts Council of Wales, the workshops have been offered to six Swansea schools and will take place during the Spring Term 2015.
Pupils will design and make a collection of ‘wild west’ style signs, in a variety of colours, sizes and fonts, each with the word ‘Swansea’ on it. Each sign will then be fixed to a series of signposts in Castle Square. The signs will be arranged to point to the various other ‘Swanseas’ across the world making a colourful and bold artwork in the centre of the city that ‘connects’ across the globe.
