Locws Workshops at the Summer Fair 2014

Cartoons and Poetry in the Sunshine

What a brilliant day at the Swansea Summer Fair, on Saturday August 9th in the old Vetch field, Sandfields, Swansea.
Locws International hosted FREE creative workshops for all ages, there was poetry and cartoon drawing for all the family.
Over 100 participants joined us during the day and we managed to keep the rain clouds at bay.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success, particularly the Locws team and volunteers.

Dylan’s Characters Competition

We delivered a fun workshop to share our summer art competition which runs until the 19th September.

We invited everyone at the Summer Fair to design cartoon drawings inspired by the characters from Dylan Thomas’ writing, or their own imaginations, and the illustrations of Locws artist, Jon Burgerman.

The selected drawings will be displayed as a public exhibition at Swansea Grand Theatre, during Sept/Oct 2014 to coordinate with the Dylan Thomas centenary celebrations.

Don’t miss out on the prizes, enter today. Please see our facebook event page for updates about the competition.

Two brilliant character entries by Lewis Walker, aged 5, inventive monsters who he named; ‘Scales’ and ‘Slash’!

Tawe MegaPoem

We also invited everybody at the Summer Fair to enter new lines into our popular Tawe MegaPoem.

Award winning poet Rhian Edwards wrote the opening lines, and we are hoping this will become the biggest online poem ever written.

More than 30 new poems were added at the Summer Fair. You can add your lines here.
