Cila Primary School Workshops
It was a very refreshing change to be introduced to a class that were in possession of thirty new iPads and a class teacher keen to experiment with them. Locws schools provided a way forward.
I demonstrated the iPad app ‘Paint Rage’ which was picked up very quickly by everyone, culminating with Tegan producing her own demonstration at the end of the class. It was exciting exploring the parameters of what we could create on the iPads, with some very interesting pictures made by using multiple imagery inspired by the Locws 2012 tour and artwork.
We explored video documentary and sound in the form of a class poem or rap. A group of photographers went around the classroom recording objects and then manipulating them so that they reminded them of the Lowcs artwork, that they saw on the tour.
A second group then used their iPads to record sounds and made a poem or rap which the whole class were invited to participate in. The iPads were used efficiently and some great multi-layered images were produced. The class were all on task and productivity was high.
