2017 Locws Schools: Year of Legends Flag Installation at Oystermouth Castle

Thanks to Swansea County Council and the Friends of Oystermouth Castle visitors can now find more colourful flags from our Year of Legends: Swansea Bay Legends themed Locws schools project at the castle. More will be appearing on the castle walls and on the flagpole over the coming weeks in addition to the eight flags that are already currently situated at the castle.

As the current public art installation featuring the flags at 360 on Oystermouth Road will be coming to an end, more flags will be joining the current installation at the castle.

Schools were provided with opportunities to learn about the heritage and history of the castle and imagine the castle’s inhabitants, visitors and goings on through the ages. Following on from their time at the castle the children returned to the classrooms to begin the creative process of interpreting all they had learned in to drawings and flag designs.
