Singleton Hospital’s Hafan y Mor children’s centre have won a top healthcare prize. LOCWS were pleased to work with Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Healthboard to invite children from across Swansea to design kites as part of a vibrant public artwork the new Children’s Development Centre at Singleton Hospital.
We received over 600 kite designs and selected 55 kites to be displayed on the walls of the new centre’s play area to make a massive mural.
Sinead Organ points out some of her favourite kites on the walls of Hafan y Mor.
“Many people have been working for years to bring together the services for children with disabilities into one building. Hafan y Môr is a dream come true! It will be a fun, friendly space for the children and their families and the kites will add an extra dimension as they fly high on the wall above the playground”.

Working with art across the city was a real pleasure – they helped make a really great project happen.
