It was a great start to the Locws tours with a calm group of children and enthusiastic teachers. Carys and Sophie instantly picked up on the Under Milk Wood influences of the Jon Bergerman. Carys said, \u201con the map there is a heart on it perhaps to show that Dylan\u2019s heart is always in Swansea\u201d.<\/p>\n

The children set about making their own \u201cMicro\u201d poems on site in response to Jeremy Deller\u2019s work More Poetry Is Needed. <\/p>\n

Darrel wrote:<\/p>\n

\u2018Dylan is always here so lets all give a cheer,
\nWhere there is light there is Dark.\u201d<\/p>\n

We then commented on the work Art Makes Children powerful where we all agreed that this was a good Statement by Bob & Roberta Smith. <\/p>\n

At the Museum Craig Fishers Home Front went down well with all pupils and Josh asked \u201cIs it about Jesus?\u201d <\/p>\n

The children made their own sketches and gave them their own titles e.g. Carys \u2013 \u2018Wall for a Bed\u2019 and Katie \u2018The wooden Pillow\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love this, its amazing\u201d, said Ellie You just don\u2019t see things like this everywhere you go\u201d.
\nWe Finished off our tour with Tom Goddard\u2019s work. Everyone was amazed with Lizzie\u2019s story. We snowballed lots of ideas of how we could make elephants from different materials engaging with all of the artwork we had seen today.<\/p>\n
