{"id":7930,"date":"2014-03-24T03:36:46","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T03:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.locwsinternational.com\/?p=7930"},"modified":"2014-03-25T14:17:15","modified_gmt":"2014-03-25T14:17:15","slug":"poetry-workshop-with-rhian-edwards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/locwsinternational.com\/?p=7930","title":{"rendered":"Poetry Workshop with Rhian Edwards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Take part in a free poetry workshop with award winning poet Rhian Edwards as part of the <a title=\"Dylan Thomas 100\" href=\"http:\/\/www.locwsinternational.com\/?page_id=7765\">Dylan Thomas<\/a> centenary celebrations for Art Across the City 2014!\u00a0Workshop will be taking place at\u00a0Swansea Museum\u00a0on Saturday\u00a029th March\u00a0and Saturday\u00a05th April\u00a0from 11am \u2013 4pm.<strong> Book your place now!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner of Wales Book of the Year 2013, the Roland Mathias Prize for Poetry 2013, the People\u2019s Choice 2013, as well as current winner of the John Tripp Award for Spoken Poetry, Rhian Edwards is a rare poet who successfully bridges the gap between page and performance poetry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->As part of Dylan Thomas 100, this workshop will offer an inspiration for the <a title=\"Introducing the Tawe Mega Poem\" href=\"http:\/\/www.locwsinternational.com\/?p=7946\">Tawe Mega Poem<\/a>, an interactive online poem, which will see the workshop participants together with poetry lovers from all over the world providing one line to this poem.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will include following exercises<br \/>\n1. The Flick Book Journey (describing a series of images that you pass from your doorstep to a certain destination; this exercises precision imagery in generating a sense of place.)<br \/>\n2. Making the abstract concrete (describing an emotion by giving it a colour, texture, smell, animal, effect on body; this helps in exploring visceral and muscular language, very much in keeping with Dylan Thomas.)<br \/>\n3.
