New stories and poems \u00a0from Niall Griffiths, Rhian Edwards and Rachel Trezise will appear across Swansea. Rachel Trezise is one of Wales most celebrated young authors. Her fiction and stage plays have received numerous awards including the Dylan Thomas Prize.\u00a0Her work has been translated into several languages and has been published in Australia and New Zealand, Denmark and Italy. We caught up with Rachel ahead of her work being installed in Swansea.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<b><b>Who are you?<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>My name is<a title=\"rachel biog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.racheltrezise.co.uk\/about-rachel\/index.shtml\"> Rachel Trezise.<\/a> I was born and still live in the Rhondda Valley. I\u2019m thirty-something year\u2019s old.<\/p>\n<p><b>Hello, how are you?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To quote a rather silly Alanis Morissette song I\u2019m free but I\u2019m focused, I\u2019m green but I\u2019m wise, I\u2019m hard but I\u2019m friendly, (baby). Also, I\u2019m tired but I\u2019m working, (yeah). I\u2019m brave but I\u2019m chicken-****.<\/p>\n<p><b>What do you do?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a short story writer most well-known for winning the inaugural Dylan Thomas Prize seven years ago but I\u2019m also a novelist, non-fiction writer and most recently a playwright.<\/p>\n<p><b>What have you been doing recently?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>My first stage play \u2018Tonypandemonium\u2019 was staged late last year by National Theatre Wales and early this year won the Theatre Critics of Wales Award for best production in the English Language. My second collection of short stories \u2018Cosmic Latte\u2019 came out last year too. I\u2019ve also been working on a novel.<\/p>\n<p><b>What are you doing for Art Across The City in Swansea?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m writing a couple of micro-fictions to be exhibited in different locations around the city.<\/p>\n<p><b>What are your ideas behind the work?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In response to Jeremy Deller\u2019s \u2018More Poetry Needed\u2019 mural I\u2019m looking for the unknowing everyday poetry in dialogue spoken by Swansea residents in the city\u2019s pubs and bars.<\/p>\n<p><b>What do you think the public will make of it?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve absolutely no idea.
