Guided Tour of Art Across The City 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today was the turn of Clwyd Primary pupils and this was a real fun tour. We began at St Mary\u2019s and looked at the work of Fiona Curren. Morgan asked, \u201cIs it a tree house for pigeons?\u201d which was a very unique comment about this art piece.<\/p>\n

The children created some great drawings as the toured the work and enjoyed the vibrancy and colour of the exhibition. Alisha really liked David Blandy\u2019s work \u2018The Devil meets Dylan Thomas\u2019 and thought that the graphics used were brilliant. When we arrived at Castle Gardens I was pleasantly surprised about how many children recognised the Icons used in Jock Mooney\u2019s piece\u2019 \u2018Swansea Kebab\u2019. Karrie-Anne was an expert and helped her friend Natasha guess the 5 Icons with some gentle prompting.<\/p>\n

Our third stop was Wind Street and Karrie-Anne asked if David Marchant\u2019s Neon\u2019s were mixed up faces and Alisha said, \u201cThey look like jumbled up body parts\u201d. They were all happy with the explanation of the pieces and though that the way of creating them was a fun thing to do.<\/p>\n

Finally, when looking at Tatham and Sullivan\u2019s \u2018Shelters\u2019, Kayne instantly looked out of the opening and said, \u201cI\u2019ll have a turkey burger please.\u201d<\/p>\n

I think that this class is going to be a lot of fun to work with.<\/p>\n
