Guided Tour of Art Across The City 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>We were really lucky with the weather today as the sun shone and we were able to walk around and discuss the artworks at our leisure and the children made some great drawings in their sketchbooks relating of the Artworks.<\/p>\n

Again Fiona Curran\u2019s work was related to as broken bridge, two boats, or a rainbow. Lavinia questioned what David Blandy’s work had to do with art, as most of the children were only keen on a the game of Guitar Hero<\/em> which was instantly recognised. I explained the piece and said, \u201cBeing a collaborative project, the process will be very relevant for group work in the school\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jock Mooney\u2019s work was well received and a lot of the children giggled at the bikini image. The children wanted to make a kebab sculpture using elements from their school, i.e. a pencil instead of a skewer.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the tour didn\u2019t walk up to the High Street to view Rik Bennett and Sean Puleston\u2019s work but I explained that I would show a power point of these when visiting school.<\/p>\n

Kaitlin thought that one of the Cowin Lush<\/em> Neon looked like a person tangled up and Lilly said, \u201care her eyes on fire?\u201d referring to another. The Children thought that it would be a good idea to draw each other in this way.<\/p>\n

Chloe asked if the Tatham & O\u2019Sullivan works were bomb shelters and William asked if they were for sun protection. They liked the faces drawn onto the shelters<\/em> and again enjoyed playing in them.<\/p>\n
