\nGuided Tour<\/strong><\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nThe pupils approached the artworks with open, inquisitive minds and with very interesting responses.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nAlongside the beauty of St Mary\u2019s church, Rhona Byrnes\u2019 projection posed a good starting point, which Niall commented on, \u2018the work visually shows you aspects of Swansea you weren\u2019t aware of\u2019.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nTorsten Lauschmann\u2019s, Piecework orchestra, opened up the subject of -What is art? Jessica saying, \u2018all the art I knew about was drawing and painting\u2019. She was inspired by Torsten\u2019s work calling it \u2018funky\u2019, with Shane replying, \u2018art is everywhere\u2019.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nSara Rees\u2019 Kairos was very well received, with a large cohort of pupils believing the work showed a comparison between classes.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nNiamh McCann\u2019s sculptural mural was viewed and generated varied opinions, some were on a political level, comparing capitalism with communism and with the ospreys representing freedom – (Nicky.) The graffiti being left exposed on the side of the work posing the question of identity.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nThe pupils responded well to the work of Milena at Swansea museum using political words such as \u2018propaganda\u2019 and \u2018one sided interpretation\u2019 when discussing the work We still do not know where will be the last cemetery.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nWe ended our tour with Rebecca Gould\u2019s work in the Norwegian Church. Which seemed to challenge their conception of what the work was trying to say, and even after an explanation, the group were still questioning this piece of art.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nThe tour was very inspiring for the pupils and generated some strong ideas to work with back at their school environment.<\/br>
\n<\/br>

\nThe students were very much engaged with Sara Rees and Torsten Lauschmann and the results were outstanding creating a poverty-stricken hut from the future and a small mechanical orchestra.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nIt seemed that, due to the fact that the students had no restrictions for what they could create, the artwork produced seemed to fit all the criteria for good art, as it solemnly portrayed feelings and empathy for their chosen subject matter.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\nWhen asked the question – \u2018Do you think what you produced is art?\u2019 Everyone replied, \u2018yes, definitely\u2019.<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\n\u2018We are able to create something that someone professional has done and I never thought it could be this good\u2019 (Jemma).<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\n\u2018I really enjoyed using materials that I wouldn\u2019t normally use in school\u2019 (Sean).<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\n\u2018It was much better than drawing on paper\u2019 (Terri-Ann).<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\n\u2018It was really encouraging to make something like this yourself\u2019 (Shane).<\/br>
\n<\/br>
\n\u2018The art has shown us how other people may live\u2019 (Jessica).<\/br>
\n<\/br>
