The festival is the culmination of the Creative Participation Programme<\/strong><\/a>, a collaborative project between Locws International, Adult Learning Wales<\/strong>\u00a0and eight community focused organisations in Swansea:<\/p>\n

Back for the third year running SwanComm Film Festival<\/strong> will premier films made during our recent community film-making workshops. You will be able to meet with the film-makers and hear about their experience of making these eight unique films about Swansea.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project saw children, young people and adults<\/strong> throughout Swansea gain creative film-making skills and enabled community members to come together to learn the theory and technical skills of making films<\/strong> as diverse as documentary, comic-horror, and animated movies.<\/p>\n

Under the engaging instruction of local filmmakers\u00a0Jamie Panton<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0David Marchant<\/strong>, the groups gained skills in interview techniques, camera work, directing, animation, filming on location, lighting and audio. Eight film-making courses were held and were attended by participants as young as 7 years and as wise as 58 years, participants over the age of 16 were also given the opportunity to gain accreditations courtesy of Adult Learning Wales<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

SwanComm Film Festival<\/strong> aims to bring the City together to hear the voices of the community as they talk about their experiences of living in Swansea.<\/p>\n
