LOCWS Creative Participation Programme 2018<\/h2>\n

Workshop 1 : Gorseinon Social Centre, 5th – 12th Feb<\/h3>\n

LOCWS International<\/strong> are pleased to announce the launch of the 2018 outreach programme, this year we will be producing 8 films with community groups across Swansea.\u00a0An enthusiastic group of adults at the Gorseinon Social Centre<\/a><\/strong> took part in the first workshop with local artist and film-maker David Marchant.<\/a><\/strong> The group developed a ‘Ghost Train’<\/strong><\/em> theme from drawn artworks produced during the planning session, this led to adventurous acting, stop-frame animations and the production of a musical soundtrack to accompany the moving images. Gorseinon Social Centre<\/strong> supports adults with learning disabilities, it is a local authority day care centre. Swansea Social Services<\/strong> provides a range of services to support adults with a learning disability, also working\u00a0in close partnership with other local agencies in Swansea in providing information and support services.<\/p>\n

The workshops enabled participants to design, develop and create their own film which involved creative writing, character design, animation, video and sound recording, and editing. Participants were encouraged to develop their own ideas from the outset and were guided through the process of scripting, designing, and shooting their films.<\/p>\n

LOCWS International<\/strong> works in partnership with other Third Sector, Educational <\/strong>and Cultural<\/strong> organisations in Swansea to contribute towards; alleviating the effects of poverty, and helping individuals benefit from exposure to the creative industries and the cultural sector.<\/p>\n
