Workshop days with David Marchant<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inspired by Graham Dolphin<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s work about linking Swansea with other places around the globe, it was coincidental that Llwynderw had recently set up links with a school in Zimbabwe in a place called Siavonga. We felt it was very important to make artworks based on this current fact.<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/a>One group made an outstanding jungle scene based on wild animals. Others made a sculpture based on Jeremy Deller<\/strong><\/a> and Michael Stumpf<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s work quoting \u201cMore shoes are needed\u201d! Another group made cars, planes and space ships representing travel. There was also a small mural of a floating ice cream. There were musical instruments made from recycled material such as a harp and some drums representing the Welsh and African links.
\nWe had a very busy two days with a lot of exploration, making, painting, and using salt dough, clay and mod rock creating our artworks.<\/p>\n
