{"id":8594,"date":"2002-09-27T14:54:55","date_gmt":"2002-09-27T14:54:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.locwsinternational.com\/?post_type=portfolio&#038;p=8594"},"modified":"2022-02-03T10:09:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-03T10:09:04","slug":"tim-davies","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"https:\/\/locwsinternational.com\/?portfolio=tim-davies","title":{"rendered":"Tim Davies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Blue Funk I<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Swansea Castle<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blue Funk II<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Maritime &amp; Industrial Museum<\/p>\n<p>Tim Davies presented two related works which reinstated the subject to the object.<\/p>\n<p>In Blue Funk I Davies used blue projected light to shroud Swansea Castle, while in Blue Funk II Swansea Museum&#8217;s Bofers Gun was veiled in blue organza.<\/p>\n<p>Both referred to the slang expression &#8216;blue funk&#8217; which means &#8216;abject terror&#8217;, reminding the viewer of the original social and cultural contexts of the two objects.
