{"id":6902,"date":"2009-05-16T08:40:31","date_gmt":"2009-05-16T08:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.locwsinternational.com\/?post_type=portfolio&#038;p=6902"},"modified":"2022-02-02T16:58:40","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T16:58:40","slug":"calum-stirling","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"https:\/\/locwsinternational.com\/?portfolio=calum-stirling","title":{"rendered":"Calum Stirling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tilt-shift <\/strong><br \/>\nNational Waterfront Museum Garden, Oystermouth Road<\/p>\n<p>Working closely with the Amgueddfa Cymru\u2013 National Museum Wales\u2019 ceramic collection, Calum Stirling has investigated Swansea\u2019s famous Cambrian Pottery works and created a major installation based on pieces from the collection that were manufactured in Swansea. The blue painted scenes depicted on the plates, jugs and cups are recognisable landscapes that combine Chinese references with familiar British landscapes.<br \/>\nIn his large-scale sculptural installation, Stirling has reconstructed these \u2018imaginary\u2019 landscapes, combining the fantasy depictions from the 1800s with familiar landmarks that can be found across Swansea today.
