Introducing Juneau Projects

Juneau Projects was formed in 2001 by artists, Philip Duckworth and Ben Sadler. Their work includes public participation alongside a diverse mix of sculpture, drawing projection, sound, music, animation and installation. They are particularly interested in the rapidly increasing speed of technological development, and its associated obsolescence. Recent work has examined the overlap between performance as musicians, sculpture and installation, an example of which are a series of homemade devices which attempt to function as both sculpture and playable musical instrument. Their new wall-based works examine equipment-fetishism and the DIY processes which facilitate their electronic music.

For Art Across The City 2013, Swansea, Juneau Projects bring their idiosyncratic take on nature, technology, music and art  in the shape of five laser cut plywood sculptures attached high in the branches of a copse of trees in Singleton Park. This will become the beacon for a picnic on 21st September, mixing bird spotting, pirates, fancy dress and storytelling.
